Sarah Cheng

Running for: Outreach Coordinator
Hello! My name is Sarah Cheng. I am a first-year student at CCSF. I plan to transfer to a 4-year university in the future and major in the realm of business. I love playing volleyball, painting, and traveling.
I would like to become an AGS officer simply because I want to be more involved with a club whose mission I feel passionate about. With school being online, I felt out of touch with the campus. AGS gave me the sense of community and comfort I needed to feel a part of the CCSF community, and I hope to do the same for someone else. I also have ideas for more meaningful volunteer opportunities, with organizations like Letters For Rose and Cancer Kids First.
From becoming an AGS officer, I hope to gain leadership experience. I know how to successfully balance work, school, and personal life. I am goal-oriented, a team player, and dependable. Most importantly, I am committed to making AGS better each and every day.

John Douglas Wilson III

Running for: Vice President, Treasurer, ICC Representative
Hi, my name is John Wilson, I’m a third semester mechanical engineering major planning for a UC transfer next fall. I’m a returning non-traditional student after working as an Audi repair specialist for over 8 years. In my free time I love hiking in the bay area and playing tennis.
Serving as an AGS officer in any capacity is a great opportunity to give back to the community and student body. This is a way for me to express gratitude towards CCSF and a city that has, and continues to, develop me as a person.
In becoming an AGS officer, I hope to not only broaden my own perspective of how AGS can serve, but to cultivate a sense of community, which I believe is the start to bring about valuable, proactive, and united efforts that make a difference.

Michelle He

Running for: Secretary, Outreach Coordinator
My name is Michelle He. I'm a first year student at CCSF. My major is Nursing and I plan to be a pediatric nurse in the future. In my free time, I like to bake, cook, and watch Korean dramas. I would like to become an AGS Officer because I want to be more involved in school, make friends, and strengthen my leadership skills. Some leadership experience I have is that I was a part of the Associated Student Body and Student Government for all four years in high school. There, I got to organize various school and volunteer events such as Homecoming.

Julissa Martinez-Salinas

Running for: Presdient, Vice President, Treasurer
Hello,  My name is Julissa Salinas, I am a first year at CCSF and a Business Administration major hoping to transfer to UC Berkeley. I am applying to be an AGS Officer and I am open to any other role that the committee feels is best suited for me.
I would like to become an AGS officer because I believe this club provides a lot of opportunities for students to grow and is a great support system for students to succeed in CC. I love what this club represents and that is why I joined, I would like to help develop the club and address any areas of the club where it can be improved or enhanced
.
I love working in a team environment, I have been working in numerous jobs since the age of 16 that have given me a lot of experience in leadership and working in a team environment. I worked for AAA for a few months as an insurance agent, and was the youngest person to pass the licensing exams the first time in a group of 55 prospective employees. In that group of 55, I led a study group of 34 where I assisted adults ranging in ages from 26-54 in studying for the exam and ultimately helping them pass. It was an amazing experience because it taught me how to understand different learning styles and to be able to adapt to other people's views and ways of thinking and it taught me to be more understanding.  I am hoping that the position I am ultimately placed in, will help me develop more skills and I would love to be a part of making this club a great place for students to succeed! Thank you!

Hello! My name is Alex Ngo. I am 19 years old, and I major in Computer Science here at CCSF. When I am not at a computer, activities I like to do include physical activity, group watch parties, or indulging in the newest video game.
One reason I want to be an AGS officer is because I personally would like to gain more valuable leadership experience. In addition, with all the pressing issues of today, I hope to work with AGS to finding meaningful solutions.
I’ve previously held positions such as treasurer for my school club and commander for my school’s JROTC, and I hope I can bring the skills I’ve learned to the table here.

Charlize Niswanger

Running for: President, Secretary, ICC Rep, Community Service Coordinator Outreach Coordinator and Newsletter Officer
Hi, my name is Charlize Niswanger and I am an upcoming freshman here at CCSF. I'm currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering and I have prospects of transferring to UC Berkeley in 2022. I am currently employed as a graphic designer for a small business where I do lots of illustration and web design, and tons and tons of project management. I'm passionate about design, construction, and am a major appreciator of the arts. I love hiking and in the past year or so I've picked up sewing, but all I really enjoy sewing is bean-bag/rice-filled frogs. I grew up as a military child, and so spent most of my childhood in Japan before moving to California a few years ago. Great to meet you!
I'd like to become an AGS officer because I want to commit myself to helping those who put a lot of effort into their education. With all the convoluted administration that the past year has brought, I want to pitch in and help alleviate the responsibilities of my fellow AGS officers so that the AGS can run smoothly and serve its members. I would also like to meet more like-minded peers since I joined CCSF in the midst of online learning. I've come to learn that the connections you make are just as important as the education you receive and as an outgoing person, I do my best to make a lot of connections! I believe that with my background in project management and my dedication to improvement that I can help AGS members' involvement easier and enjoyable.
In terms of leadership experience I've had: I was the secretary to the honor society in high school where I managed administration business and attendance/member information, the ambassador to the digital arts conservatory at my joint art school where I advocated for the events and affairs of my conservatory, recently I was a social events officer for a now-disbanded club where I organized ways for club members to bond over online-learning, and currently (and for the past 2 years) I have been working as a graphic designer where I spearhead multiple projects with a myriad of clients. I have grown quite accustomed to dealing with projects that require different magnitudes of attention and detail and balancing multiple client relationships. I am skilled in working with people and bringing ideas to life and seeing that each project gets the best possible outcome. In becoming an AGS officer I hope to further those skills and work on more projects in an academic context as I quite enjoyed the process when doing over the past few years.

Hi! I’m Darieus, a Biology student at CCSF, and I’m running to represent you as an AGS Officer. I would love the opportunity to be a part of the team that runs this amazing organization. My leadership experience stretches far and wide, from managing a patient advocacy group with over 3,000 members to helping organize student lobbying trips to the State Capitol. I am more than prepared to take on the challenge of bringing this organization even higher as we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
You will not regret putting your trust in me as your representative and officer.

Kristin Tam

Running for: Community Service Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator
Hi everyone! My name is Kristin and I’m in my second semester at CCSF as a biology major. A fun fact about myself is that I love animals and have 2 cats! As an AGS officer, I would strive to ensure that AGS remains a community in which members can socialize, stay involved with the school, and volunteer. Leadership experience I’ve had is being a track manager in high school in which I was responsible for record-keeping, fundraising for team trips, and communication between coaches and team members. From being an officer, I hope to further my team working skills and to form connections with individuals with the same passion of being involved in the community

Xiaowen Tang

Running for: Outreach Coordinator, Community Service Coordinator
Introduction: My name is Xiaowen Tang. In China it means the clouds at dawn. My major is CS. I am currently a sophomore in CCSF.
I have been diagnosed with depression for more than four years, and many people have been helping me during my treatment. Now I also want to do something to give back to society. Joining AGS to become an officer coincides with my original intention:  to become a better version of myself and give back to our community.

I have worked as a salesman at a large import and export trade fair twice in Guangzhou China. The position required me to distribute flyers and sell products to customers. I have successfully made a large business for my boss at that time. I also had experience as an Events Coordinator in the club.

Samantha Wong

Running for: Community Service Coordinator, Outreach Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator
My name is Samantha Wong and I am currently in my second semester here at CCSF. The reason why I decided to become an AGS Officer is because I think it would be a great way to gain different valuable skills and also I’ve always thought that becoming an officer sounded really fun. Back in high school, I was extremely scared and doubtful to run for different positions whether it's in a club or a part of the student council. Some leadership experiences that I have is that I have mentored a few new incoming interns at my job. Back in high school, I took initiative
and created this small business with my friends in my business class and also I’ve participated in many volunteering events through a club I was in. What I hope to gain from becoming an AGS Officer is building my leadership and communication skills.

Hello, my name is Edwin Yang, I am a second year student here at CCSF studying Psychology. I would like to become an AGS Officer to develop and enhance my skills, whether it be: leadership skills, communication skills, and team-word skills. Most importantly I also take pleasure in assisting others. For my personal life experiences, I’m also currently serving as a PGC Health and Safety Student Representative, I like to take initiative in handling my family’s finances(applying for Food Stamps, investment strategies, and health insurance premiums) on a yearly basis, I also love volunteering for the SF-Marin Food Bank where cooperation is needed.
