October 27th marked the annual AGS Omega Chapter Fall Picnic.  Hosted at Lindley Meadow along the John F. Kennedy Drive, the officers of AGS prepare this event to connect with fellow AGS members.  During the event, AGS members got to gather together and socialize.  I got to meet a variety of new people who are a part of the club as well as rekindle with long lost friends.  After the eating and socialization, members volunteered to help fellow Treasurer Officer Julie Ainsbury create “thank you” cards.  The “thank you” cards were to be given with Julie’s homemade dog treats that would be donated to the local dog charity organization.  The process of making thank you cards tapped into the creative powers of each member as they produced many unique types.

Ending the day, Editor-in-Chief Kristine Nodalo and I taught the members the stealthy game of Ninja, a game that requires attention, focus, balance, and ridiculous poses all in the effort to slap a person’s hand. Afterwards, a game consisted of wrapping two candidates in tissue paper as quick as possible ensued in the spirit of Halloween. Overall, in spite of the cold weather and small number, the Fall Picnic social gathering allowed members to get know each other, connect, and grow as a chapter community.
